You won’t stumble on a pot of gold
If you’re hoping to walk down the street one day and find a million dollars I wish you luck. Success is a long term goal and you need to direct your energy towards that goal. The best way to do that is through a plan. Everyone likes to “wing” it, you know like improvise during drama class. The problem with that is there is a lot of wasted time, when you have a plan you work step by step and execute each step perfectly. If you don’t do everything 100% and end up with a failed plan, is it because the plan was bad or because you didn’t give it 100%? To avoid this you just have to go every step of the way.
The American Dream
Let me give you a reality check here. How bad do you want it? I mean seriously… HOW BAD DO YOU DESIRE YOUR GOALS? I bet you really do, who doesn’t I want all my desires too. But do you know how much work goes into getting those goals. Everyone wants a million dollars, but no one wants to put in the work necessary to get the million dollars. You think it was that easy being rich? Being rich. Think about that, sounds like your entering a new class or hierarchy. What’s the difference between you and someone who is rich? Really it all comes down to habits. If you break it down objectively, in its most basic form, it comes down to the right habits. Put aside everything you want, like really, what is it that you NEED? If you have bills you MUST pay them, but you don’t HAVE to spend $100’s of dollars a week at the bar, club, on drugs or games. Get a notepad and track your spending. Whatever your spending your money on that is “extra” and unnecessary cut it out. Easier said then done I know, but that’s my point. That being rich is just a matter of mastering successful habits. Don’t look at it as impossible or just a dream.
There is no excuse
A cop can be racist, a mortgage broker can be racist, and a basketball team owner can be racist, but money is not racist. Doesn’t matter what skin colour or race you are, numbers are numbers and they don’t lie. You are the biggest bottleneck in your business. The only thing holding you back from what you want is YOU. That’s the truth, the sooner you notice this, the sooner you can stop looking for shortcuts and secrets and the sooner you can do the only thing it takes to being successful. Notice your spending habits, cut unnecessary costs, and if you can’t cut anymore then find time or ways to make more money. There is no excuse, failure is only part of the process.
FOCUS ON THIS FOR GUARANTEED SUCCESS
“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” -Newton’s Third Law
That’s a powerful statement. It indicates proportion and direction. For every action, there will be an equal (the proportion) and opposite (the direction) reaction. Let me sum up everything I said earlier and it will all tie together. You see becoming rich and successful is a long term goal that requires a plan to direct your focus and energy. The plan will outline the habits needed to become rich, as that is the only thing that separates you from your rich counterpart. Now on top of your plan you will have written your goal, the ultimate thing you must work towards. This is what you must write, bold and italicize on the top.
PUT IN WORK
Prioritize that. Make that your goal EVERYDAY. Everyone wants a million dollars but no one wants to put in the work. That’s why you should write “PUT IN WORK“. Everyone knows how to put in work, it’s easy to jump on google and search what you want; read a bunch of stuff and see what a lot of people said and how they started, write stuff down. Make a plan. Do further research on each step of the plan and then execute the steps accordingly. Newton’s third law implies that if we put in the appropriate work, we will receive an equal and opposite reaction which is money (from a business perspective). Money can be seen as an opposite reaction to work, as we work for money, having money may mean working less. However that is highly subjective. The law stays true anyhow, if you prioritize and make it a goal to PUT IN WORK everyday towards your goal, then you must get closer to whatever it is you desire. Don’t make the reward the goal, make the journey the goal.
The logic behind Newton’s third law and the principle of work is based on the idea of VALUE. You don’t work at a fast-food place and make $1,000,000 a year. What you get paid is related to the work you do and the value you bring to your environment. If you just flip burgers or scan products at a grocery store, don’t expect to make a $1,000,000, thats not to say your job is useless, it’s not, it has value, and it’s valued at minimum wage. If you’re a heart surgeon, your position holds more value, you’re bringing a service that is valued higher then a cashier or what not. If you create a product that serves the needs of many people, if the product saves people time or makes a process easier, then people find your product valuable and they will pay for it. What I am trying to say is that if you want to make $1,000,000 then be prepared to put in the amount of work equal to the value of $1,000,000.
If we reverse Newton’s third law and start with the goal, in order for the equal and opposite reaction to be $1,000,000 there must have been an action that was proportionate to $1,000,000. This is why I said to prioritize PUTTING IN WORK because essentially making a $1,000,000 doesn’t come down to luck or dreams, it is directly related to the amount of work you put in and what that work is valued. Work everyday, build value and one day you will make $1,000,000.
